Devotional: Our Confident Hope-Part 2
Christian Devotion about having confident hope in God's promises
Let us seize and hold
tightly the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is reliable and trustworthy and faithful
[to His word]. - Hebrews 10:23 (AMP)
We need to stand on God's
Word and confess His promises over our circumstances—no matter how impossible it looks to us. It is vital that we
hold on with all we have to our confession of hope. Don't ever give in to the temptation to give up because it
just seems all too hard. Remember, nothing is too hard for Almighty God—and nothing, absolutely nothing, is
impossible for God—but we must stand firm and hold on to our confession of hope in God and His Word.
God's promises stand true
for all time, and He will always stand by the promises He has made in His Word. He doesn't change His mind or
shift the goal posts. His Word is His bond!
With that in mind, we can
be assured that placing our hope in His promises is never a waste of time or futile. On the contrary, our hope in
God's promises and His ability to carry out what His Word says, will never let us down. God is so very faithful
to that which He has promised—so He can be confidently trusted. And we can hold on to this hope without wavering because
it is placed in the very One who never falters and never changes.
This is the confidence we
have in God—He is faithful! He doesn't watch us get our hopes up only to change the game plan on us. He doesn't
toy with us just so He can amuse Himself by watching us crash and fall defeated. No, He loves us and wants to see
us succeed and thrive! He just wants the very best for us—His beloved children.
As we put our hope in God
and His promises, He causes us to grow in our faith because we can see the way in which He outworks those promises
in our lives. We come to learn that He is faithful, that He does love us immensely and cares deeply for us. We can
hold on to hope with quiet confidence and expectancy because He is who He says He is, and He does what He says He
will do—though, not always in the ways we expect or in our time frame!
