May I be filled with your love, Lord
So it may flow from me
Into the lives of those I meet
To touch them in their need
And may I not be indifferent, Lord
To another's hurting soul,
But give me an ear to listen to them
And arms that reach out to hold
And Lord, may I not be afraid to weep
With those who truly grieve—
When they have given up on love,
May they see your love in me
Give me a heart of true compassion
Like you, my saviour, showed
And let not my life be only for me,
But for others who may not know
Your love, mercy and grace, O Lord
And forgiveness of all sin
For it's only through you, we have new life
And fresh hope instilled within
Yet, I know dear Lord, I often lack
Real love in my life
For it's only you that can give the love
That fills the void inside
And it's only then I could ever give
To others with hurts so deep—
So, change me Lord and fill my heart
