Devotional: Young, But Not Despised
Christian Devotion about being young and serving the Lord
"...Let no one despise or think less of you because of your
youth, but be an example (pattern) for the believers in
speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity..." -
1 Timothy 4:12 (AMPC)
We sometimes, unknowingly, look down upon young believers.
We may think they have a lot to learn and lack more mature
understanding in spiritual matters. Though, at times, there
may be an element of truth in that, God can mightily use our
young people. God will use anyone willing to be used of Him.
A person may be young in years, but it does not exclude
them from hearing God's voice. In fact, it's quite the
opposite. Young people (especially children), have such a
trusting faith. Look at Samuel! God spoke to him while he
was young. He heard the voice of the Lord. Likewise, our
young people can be examples for us all.
Though they're young, they're not despised
For they are ambassadors of Jesus Christ.
