Devotional: What You Are Not – A Sinner
Christian Devotion on our Identity in Christ as Sons & Daughters
For sin will no longer be a master over you, since you are not under Law [as slaves], but under [unmerited] grace [as recipients of God's favor and mercy] (v.14 Amp) – Romans 6:14-22 (NKJV)
This may be surprising to you. Most Christians can only see themselves as "sinners" or at least "saved sinners". We can be so 'sin conscience' that we fail to see the truth of who we really are. Even if at times we may stumble, it does not revert us back to being a "sinner"—as in we don't lose our sonship—we are stiil sons and daughters by God's grace.
If this is how you see yourself, please understand the importance of realigning your thinking to see yourself as God sees you. Since you have been saved by God's grace and been washed clean in the blood of the Lamb, which has set you free from sin, God no longer sees you as a sinner. He sees you as His precious child clothed in His righteousness.
As a child of God, your old life is dead and buried and you are now a "new creation". Pause and prayerfully reflect on this—thanking God for what the cross of Christ accomplished for you.
I want to share with you 'Know Your Worth', a word from God given to my son during communion one Sunday—as I think it pertains to this devotional.

Live to your fullest potential in Christ. God didn't pay a high price for you to remain captive to sin.
Live up to what Christ paid for you. If you don't know how much that was, then ask God how much you are worth. Let no drop of His blood be wasted.
