Devotional: What You Are Not – Condemned
Christian Devotion on our Identity – Condemnation
Therefore there is now no condemnation [no guilty verdict, no punishment] for those who are in Christ Jesus [who believe in Him as personal Lord and Savior]. – Romans 8:1 (AMP)
Because you have been set free from sin and are now a child of God, you are no longer condemned. God does not condemn you. He loves you and helps you as you grow into Christ-likeness. There is nothing you could do or say that would stop God from loving you. So often though, we condemn ourselves. If we stumble or make a mistake, we often beat ourselves up. God does not beat you up nor is He hard on you – so why should you be?
Do you think God is looking down on you thinking that you're a lost cause and wondering why He would even bother moulding you and shaping you into His likeness? No way! He sees the treasure you have within. He loves you, and as He thinks of you and watches over you, He smiles. He's not angry at you if you happen to stumble, but He lovingly helps you up and strengthens you to carry on – and He never gives up on you.
Meditate on this for a moment and thank God that He will never condemn you.
