Devotional: Run Your Race
Children's Devotion on keeping our focus on Jesus When you enter a race, you lay aside everything that will slow you down, and your focus is on the finishing line. You run to win! Nobody runs in the hope of coming last. If we're serious runners, we will put in the training and be focused on running well. It's much like that in the Christian life. We run to win the heavenly prize, which is waiting for us. We run with our eyes focused on Jesus and we don't get distracted with other things that are less important. We lay aside the weight of sin and everything that can trip us up. We run with endurance and persistence—which means, we don't give up! Jesus' focus was on the cross, He never wavered from that. He knew why He came and what He had to endure. He stayed on course and won the victory over death and sin. Because of this, we can have forgiveness for our sins, we can have eternal life and we can live a victorious and abundant life (John 10:10). There are times, though, when we become weary and lose heart as we run our race. But even though at times it becomes hard and we feel like we can't run anymore, Jesus comes alongside us and helps us. Just remember, to keep your eyes focused on Jesus. © By M.S.Lowndes Let us not grow weary or become discouraged in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap, if we do not give in. - Galatians 6:9 (AMP) Sometimes it seems so very hard © By M.S.Lowndes To Print Devotional: highlight devotional, then right click and select "print", or: If you want to send this page to a friend, click on 'Share This Page' below - or if you want to contact me, click on the 'Email' button below.
