As silver needs refining
And as the furnace is for gold,
To melt away all impurities
Like God's work within our souls
To leave behind what's pure
And rid us of what's not
This is the testing of the heart,
The purifying hand of God
Life's trials often come to us
In the furnace of hard times,
But we must only trust in God
As we are being refined.
