Devotional: Our Good Shepherd (Part 4)
Christian Devotion about God leading through the valley of death
Even though I walk through the [sunless] valley of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort and console me. - Psalm 23:4 (AMP)
When our time comes to die,
we need not have any fear, because we walk through this time with Jesus. His peace is with us and in us through the
difficult seasons of life. We need to remind ourselves of this and have confident assurance that we can walk through
anything with Jesus by our side.
His peace is constant,
unshakable and is what sustains us. We must remember that God is always with us, and in our time of death, we can
have assurance that His presence will overshadow us, and He will lead us home to be with Him. He protects us and
He guides us, and because of this, we can know His comfort and consolation. We need not fear this stage of life,
but rejoice in it, knowing that our loving heavenly Father is always with us bringing His comfort, peace and His
love as He gently holds our hand and leads us home!
God also brings comfort and
consolation to the loved ones we leave behind, granting them the expectant hope of being reunited again for all
eternity. God takes care of our loved ones and He takes care of us. So, we needn't be afraid. And though it is
hard to let a loved one go, we can know that, because of their faith in God, it's only a temporary parting!
