Devotional: Our Confident Hope-Part 1
Christian Devotion about Hope, Trust and Assurance in God
Such hope [in God's
promises] never disappoints us, because God's love has been abundantly poured out within our hearts through the
Holy Spirit who was given to us. - Romans 5:5 (AMP)
As we continually trust
God in the hard times of life, we learn that He is ever so faithful to see us through them. He guides us step-by-step
through each difficult situation we may face—which results in our confident hope in Him. And this confident hope
that is produced in us through the suffering and hardships of life, will never disappoint us, put us to shame or
delude us. It's a hope that has been tested and tried by the storms of life and causes us to believe that God
will bring us safely through the next storm.
And this hope we have in
God Himself and in His Word—His precious promises—prove true every time. We can know for certainty that God is
faithful to His Word and won't change His mind or renege on His promises. What He says in His Word, He means, and
He will do it!
We can also take comfort
in knowing that this hope is not only for here and now as we trust God with each day, but it's a hope—a confident
assurance—of eternal salvation. We can know that when our life is through, we will go home to be with our Lord
forever—in this, we have confident hope. Our salvation is secured through the blood of Jesus!
We also have the assurance
of His love through the indwelling Holy Spirit who fills our hearts with God's love. This also gives us hope to
stand firm and keep pressing through—knowing God watches over us with tender-care. He holds us in the storms and
will never lose His grip. He will never abandon us to face our darkness alone. He just won't!
Don't ever believe the
lie that you're all alone and God is nowhere to be found. He is right there with you in this very moment—even
when you don't feel Him near to you. He's only a whisper away!
