Devotional: No Longer I, But Christ
Christian Devotion about Being Crucified with Christ
I have been crucified with Christ [that is, in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body I live by faith [by adhering to, relying on, and completely trusting] in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. (v.20 AMP)
We cannot be justified through the law. It is only through having faith in Jesus Christ that we can be justified.
We need to live each day as one "crucified with Christ"—that is, dying to our old nature with its fleshly desires, and live "resurrected in Christ"—that is, living according to our new nature with its new Christ-centred ideals. It is no longer our life to live, but Christ's—who lives in us. The life we live is lived to the glory of God. It is no longer about "me, myself and I".
We put off the old to put on the new and live our lives in the newness of Christ—being filled and led by the Spirit. We are clothed in Christ's righteousness—and it is a perfect fit as it has been designed for us.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Saviour], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life]. - 2 Corinthians 5:17 (Amp)
Help me, Lord, to die to self
The nature of the flesh
And live a life that's resurrected
In Jesus' righteousness.
