Devotional: New Day, Clean Slate
Christian Devotion about God's Lovingkindness and Mercy being new every morning
It is because of the Lord's lovingkindnesses
that we are not consumed, because His [tender] compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great and beyond measure is
Your faithfulness. - Lamentations 3:22-23 (AMP)
The Lord's lovingkindness is what sustains us and
protects us, and because of His lovingkindness, we are not consumed. Nothing at all can devour us or destroy us, even though
Satan tries all the time to kill, steal and destroy us—but Jesus came to give us life in abundance. (John 10:10)
God's lovingkindness never fails.
His mercies and compassions never cease but are brand new every morning. It's like we have a clean slate with each new
day. The mistakes, failings and even the sin of yesterday are washed clean in the blood of the Lamb when we confess
it to God and give it over to Him. We can start each new day afresh in the forgiveness of the Lord, knowing He does
not hold the mistakes of yesterday against us. It's a new day and a clean slate! God's faithfulness towards us is
greater, much greater than our failings. His faithfulness is beyond measure. Nothing at all can compare!
God loves us so much and is always
there to lift us up and brush us off, just like a loving parent would do with their small child who has fallen over. God is
always there with love and concern for our well-being, our happiness, our health and our wholeness—spirit, soul and
body. In fact, our heavenly Father cares about every detail of our lives, so much so that He wants to be involved in
our everyday moments, no matter how mundane it may be. His compassion, faithfulness, mercy and lovingkindness are there
for us with the dawn of each new day—and this is something we can truly rejoice in and be thankful for.
