Devotional: A Message of Hope

Children's Christian Devotion on Hope

Bar

God had a message of hope for His people who were in exile. Even though they were taken captive, God wanted them to not give up hope while they waited for Him to rescue them. He wanted them to settle there in peace, build homes for themselves, grow their own food, marry and have children.

It can, in some ways, be similar to how we feel when we long for something so bad, but for some reason, it doesn't seem to happen. We can be left wondering if it will ever happen. This is how it feels when we start to lose hope.

What do you think God's message of hope is for you today? Jeremiah 29:11 says: "For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you, says the Lord, plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope".

You should never give up hope for the things you desire to do, because God will open the doors for you to shine—but in His time. Meanwhile, He wants you to still keep on living life to the full—enjoying each new day!

We were given this hope when we were saved. (If we already have something, we don't need to hope for it. But if we look forward to something we don't yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently.) - Romans 8:24-25 (NLT)

Help me, Lord, to not lose hope
Or take my eyes off you,
For when my dreams are in Your Will,
I know that they'll come true.
