When our life takes a turn
That we never expected,
It seems as though for a time,
We feel lost and dejected

There are so many things
That take us by surprise
And the things we least expect,
Hit us between the eyes

But God can use these times
To get our attention,
So He can do a work in us
And teach a life lesson

So we need to remember
That we're not on our own,
Because God is by our side
And we don't walk alone

For we'll always have the Lord
To talk to when it's rough,
When nobody else is there,
When the going gets tough

And it won't seem half as bad
When shared with Jesus Christ,
For He knows that trials come
Into each of our lives

And He offers hope and love
In the midst of this madness,
Then His peace can flood our souls
To soothe and heal our sadness.
