In The Moment Of Temptation
Lord,
In that moment of temptation
Let me remember you
Let me see your face
And remember your word.
Help me stand firm and not waver
Help me to turn away
And uphold your truth
The truth of your word.
Let me flee from temptations
No matter how they come
And help me recognize them
No matter how they’re disguised.
Give me discernment to know
When I am being tempted
Because sometimes temptation
Can be so cleverly subtle.
Help me to be faithful in prayer
Never ceasing to commune with you
So that I will not fall
Into the trap of temptation
Because, falling into temptation
Is falling into the trap of Satan
Into his web of bondage
Destroying my very being
And separating me from you…
So, Lord,
In that moment of temptation
Let me remember you
Let me see your face
