Devotional: God Brings The Increase

Read: 2 Kings 4: 1-7 (NKJV)

This story is so amazing. This poor widow had nothing to offer but a little oil. In the hands of God though, it was enough. He brought the increase as the oil continued to flow, until all the jars were full.

This speaks to me of giving God the little we have because He will multiply it. We can never have too little that God wouldn't be able to use us. He wants us to take what we do have and be faithful in using it for Him. He will take care of the rest. I've seen this in my own life. God has brought increase more than I ever imagined.

Whatever gifts or abilities you have, commit it to God and ask Him to show you where and how you can be used. It often starts off small, but God brings the increase.

My challenge for you today is to find ways in which your talents can be used–and start using them. God has given them to you for a reason. Trust God to bring the increase as you step out and do it. Trust God to multiply what you have committed to Him–because He will.

Another of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, spoke up, "Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?" Jesus said, "Have the people sit down." There was plenty of grass in that place, and the men sat down, about five thousand of them. Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted. He did the same with the fish. When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, "Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted." So they gathered them and filled twelve baskets with the pieces of the five barley loaves left over by those who had eaten. - John 6:8-13 (NIV)

The Lord will multiply the little you have,
Those gifts He has placed within
He increases it beyond what you ever dreamed
As you offer it up to Him.
