Devotional: An Eternal Perspective
Christian Devotion about living with integrity with an 'eternal perspective'
"...A false balance and unrighteous dealings are
extremely offensive and shamefully sinful to
the Lord, but a just weight is His delight..." - Proverbs 11:1 (AMPC)
When we cheat the system or have unrighteous
dealings in business (or in any other area), it is
sinful to the Lord. From an 'eternal perspective',
what would we gain by getting more money from an
unsuspecting person who is working hard to make
ends meet? From an 'eternal perspective' what
would be gained by cheating the system or bending
the law a bit because we can get away with it?
There are some things that the world may not see
as very wrong. We may have an 'everybody does it'
mentality to it.
But from God's perspective, is it wrong? Does it line up
with biblical truth? Do we need to obey the law of the
land even when we see a 'way around it'? As Christians,
do we have a peace about it, or are we a little
uncomfortable? We are called to be upright in every
area–even in the grey areas. It can affect what God
would do in our lives in the future.
Integrity in every area of our lives
Brings honour and glory to Jesus Christ
