Encouraging Words

Sometimes it can be easy
To encourage somebody else,
Yet so often we don't stop and think
Of applying it to ourselves

We can say and write the words
That speak healing to someone else,
But we often find it hard to take
Those same words for ourselves

The Lord gives us words of life
To those who are down and out,
To those in such desperate need,
Who have real hurt and doubt

But the Lord also speaks to us,
Words of hope when days are rough,
So we can also be encouraged
And uplifted in His love

So maybe when the next time
You share an encouraging word,
Remember to encourage yourself
With the same encouraging words.

comfort, who comforts and encourages us in every trouble so
that we will be able to comfort and encourage those who are
in any kind of trouble, with the comfort with which
we ourselves are comforted by God.
